  4. Scheduling a Trip 1. Log-in to the volunteer database: https://onpoint.opptuna.com/volunteers/ 2. Search for rides 3. Select a ride 4. Contact the student when you select a ride 5. Confirm ride details again the day before the ride

  5. The Day of the Trip • Text the student to tell them you’re on your way • You should not have to wait for an extended period of time • If you cannot locate or make contact with the student, call the Volunteer Coordinator

  6. Rules of the Road • Volunteer drivers at OPFC must be at least 25 years old • Seatbelts must be worn at all times • Excessive vehicle speed is prohibited • Please call the Volunteer Coordinator if an issue occurs

  7. Requests from Students Students are not permitted to request a ride directly from a volunteer. If this happens, direct them back to the Volunteer Coordinator instead. What if… • If a student’s belongings do not fit in your vehicle… • Call the Volunteer Coordinator • If a student has an errand to run… • OPFC suggest stops be limited to meals and restroom breaks • If a student wants to be dropped off at a different location… • OPFC asks volunteers to stick to the original plan

  9. Luggage Start/end of Semester • Students will bring all their belongings • One student per car in this instance School breaks • Students are told not to travel with more than 2 bags • Car pooling is possible during breaks

  10. When to Call OPFC • If a student asks you for financial support • If a student expresses thoughts such as: - Dropping out - Pregnancy - Depression - Abuse - Family conflicts - Money problems If a student is unhappy about your travel plans, call the Volunteer Coordinator
