TRANSITION PERIOD ACTIVITIES (IN PROGRESS)  Installation of CAPS from Department of Basic Education to MLO pilot libraries  Installation of DBE CAPS content in public libraries in all 9 provinces  Operationalizing/Implementing the MOUs/SLAs that were waiting for ICT equipment to be installed  Making career guidance content from Department of higher education more accessible in all MLO sites N ational Library of South A frica

  8. TRANSITION PERIOD ACTIVITIES (IN PROGRESS)  Training of provincial and library staff  Rolling out of 3rd and 4th ICT Internship Programme  100 % installation of all donated equipment N ational Library of South A frica

  9. ICT INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME • To date we’ve had 3 rollouts and we now recruiting for the 4 th one: • First rollout – 65 interns • Second rollout – 200 interns • Third rollout – 100 interns • Fourth rollout – 100 interns N ational Library of South A frica

ICT INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (CONT) • 3 rd and 4 th rollouts: • Funded by Telkom Foundation • Implemented in GP, KZN, MP and EC • Stipends – R3000 • Criteria – Matriculants • Training: Technical support and Systems training • Training decentralised • Training duration: 4months • Project duration: 12months N ational Library of South A frica

SUSTAINABILITY • The continuity of the project objectives/outcomes • Increased and improved public access to quality ICT services in public libraries. • Additional services to the communities through public libraries. Investments through partnerships, collaborations, etc. Replacement of the donated equipment. Maintenance of the donated equipment. Continued IT support . Access to internet/wifi N ational Library of South A frica
