British Council Skills for Employability, Advanced Partnership Project WKC, UK – Vinh University of Technology Education, Vietnam A British Council, Skills for Employability, Advanced Partnership Project, which forms the basis of a 3 year collaboration between partners; establishing a National Centre for Teacher Training and Assessing Learning in Vietnam, delivering an internationally recognised qualification awarded by the UK Awarding Body, City & Guilds.
The Partnership
Project Outline • Building upon the outcomes of an SFE Foundation Project (13/14) • Working to achieve City & Guilds centre accreditation and qualification approval for Vinh University of Technology Education (VUTED) • Training 10 Master Teacher Trainers from VUTED in a City & Guilds International Qualification in Teacher Training and Assessing Learning • Providing VUTED with the resource and skills to deliver an Internationally recognised vocational teacher training qualification • Establishing VUTED International Training and Assessing Learning Centre (VITAL)
Project Challenges • Identifying a suitable qualification which meet the needs of VUTED and the wider Vietnam Vocational Education system • Developing internal systems, policies and paperwork at VUTED to meet the requirements of a UK awarding body • Over coming English language level concerns • Identifying Funding
Project Benefits • Internationalising the curriculum • Sharing best practice and creating CPD opportunities for staff • Creating a positive impact on learners and the general public in Vietnam and Enhancing skills for Employability UK Partners • Exposure and recognition in the Vietnamese education market Vietnamese Partner • Answering the Government call for the increase in the number of Internationally recognised qualifications being delivered • Responding to the growing demand for Vocational Teacher Training in Vietnam
