How do we use libraries?
What are we going to do? The Scottish Library and Information Council has awarded funding through the Public Library Improvement Fund to develop the role of libraries and library staff in: • Supporting people to build on their strengths, skills and experience to live well on their own terms with any conditions they may have (self management) • Enabling people to get the full benefit from print and digital information resources to manage their health and wellbeing support their health and wellbeing • Working as partners with the NHS and national health strategy
How are we going to do it? • Develop, test and deliver four workshops and a training resource for public library staff. • Increase knowledge about self management and health literacy • Enabling staff to feel confident offering support and information to people about their health and wellbeing.
