English and Cultural Studies Explores many areas of reading, writing and performance including the study of literature, film, theatre and creative and professional writing. Includes units in the literary history of Britain, America, Australia and postcolonial societies; creative writing and theatre; popular culture and film; and critical theory. History Introduces you to the complexities involved in a range of historical periods and requires you to use imagination as well as reason. Not in the Bachelor of Arts? If you study one of the other Bachelor courses at UWA then you can still study Arts units. These can: allow you to complete an Arts major as a second major meet Category A or B broadening requirements be general elective units
What can I study in Arts? • Start with level one units - e.g. ANTH1001, FREN1403 • All advanced language units and some music units have prerequisites • Most Arts majors (degree specific major) require students to complete COMM1901 Communication Practice as a complimentary unit • Otherwise take your pick! • Check the pathway for your major in the UWA Handbook • Ask for help if you need it!
