Surveillance Report As of May 5 th , 2020: • Over 3.6 million COVID-19 cases and over 250,000 deaths have been reported worldwide. As of May 4 th , 2020: • 19,097 cases of this illness confirmed in Ontario, including 1446 deaths • 423 cases confirmed in the Middlesex-London region, including 40 deaths.

Provincial Update • COVID-19 Provincial Testing Guidance Update • This document now includes information about: o Transferring a patient from the hospital to long-term care homes (pg. 3) o Guidance for testing newborns (pg. 8 & 9) o Conjunctivitis added as an atypical symptom o Other underlying reasons for patients presenting with only a runny nose, sneezing or congestion, such as seasonal allergies and post-nasal drip. o Testing considerations for cancer patients (appendix B) and hemodialysis patients (appendix C) Based on this information the following documents have also been updated: • Quick Reference Public Health Guidance on Testing and Clearance • COVID -19 Patient Screening Guidance • COVID -19 Reference Document for Symptoms
