ROBOT RISKS WILL YOUR FUTURE JOB BE AUTOMATED?
ROBOT RISKS 1. Ask students “How are robots and automation being used in the world today? 2. Thinking about what jobs interest you – list your top 10 job choices. 3. Which of your picks is risky? Find out at https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2 017-job-risk/ 4. Filter your top 5 least risky job picks. 5. Transfer to storyboard. Suggested extension – take your least risky job and come up with a way automation or a robot could make it better!

THE FUTURE GET READY COME ON! 1. Ask students “What do you think of when you think about the future?” and “How might life be better than it is now?” 2. Imagine your life when you are 100. What will it be like? 3. Take a look at the progress the world is making. How might these trends affect your life and your future? 4. Transfer to storyboards. Suggested extension – allow students to explore the sites listed and find out their favorite “FASCINATING FACTS” about the future. Share in class or as a video, animation or PowerPoint.

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE! 1. You are now 100 years old! What year is it and where do you want to be living? 2. Things have changed a ton – what changes do you think are most interesting? Use the “ newsoffuture ” web site or future trend lists for ideas. 3. Think about how things have changed – and how that has impacted your own life. 4. Transfer to storyboard. Suggested extension – Place labels for “People, Technology etc.” around the room. Allow students to share their answers at each area – students will regroup after 5 minutes and can choose where they want to go. Do this 3 times.
