  1. The Faction ‐ Saddle “we are only as good as our connections ” GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  2. Agenda ‐ August 8, 2017 1. Introductions 2. Technical Presentation 3. Q&A 4. Live Demonstration & Discussion

  3. Introductions ‐ Contact Information • Rob Morrow – President/Founder, Faction Fusion • Phone 503.580.4420 • E ‐ Mail rob@factionfusion.com • Collins Orton – Product Specialist, Faction Fusion • Phone 650.208.9035 • E ‐ mail PipeDr96@aol.com • Rob Craw – Manufacturers Representative, AqueoUS Vets™ • Phone 925.967.5232 • E ‐ mail rcraw@aqueousvets.com

  4. Faction Fusion – The Faction Saddle Story • Developed out of necessity by a leader in the trenchless industry • Rob Morrow – 20 years of pipe bursting and HDPE experience with Mocon Corp. • Mocon’s focus ‐ doing what most thought to be unachievable via pipe bursting • Double and triple upsizing • Working in zero access area’s ‐ easements • Market Innovators for pipe bursting and installation methods • The Goal ‐ develop a fused sanitary sewer Wye and Tee for HDPE pipe that would provide adaptable configurations like PVC/Clay • Providing the most desired sanitary sewer connection for the HDPE client • The technology uses the physical properties of HDPE pipe instead of assisting technology to facilitate a fused connection • The technology is in the fusion equipment, the method and IP not the fitting • Results in a leak free, root free, gasketless sewer system from manhole to manhole and to the utility/resident transition • Available, reliable, tested and verified solution at the point and time of execution

  5. Faction Fusion – Manufacturing and Connections • Fittings made from HDPE 4710 pipe stock • ASTM D3350 ‐ 14, Table 1 • Cell Class PE445574C • 4” & 6” saddles • Pre ‐ fabricated Reducing Wye’s – 4” & 6” • Inlet – pipe outside dimension (OD) is machined for IPS or DIPS dimensions • Mainline connection – pipe profile is machined to match mainline pipe OD • Inlet Connection Types • Fused • Butt fusion • Electro ‐ fusion • Mechanical • PVC bell x spigot with rubber coupling • Plain end x Plain End Shielded coupling

  6. Faction Fusion – Specialties • Typical Pipe Bursting • Size on size or • Single upsizing • Flow line remains at the same elevation • Standard faction saddle reconnection • Extreme/Experimental Pipe Bursting • 2 to 3 upsizes in pipe diameter • Flow line remains at the same elevation • Spring line increases in elevation • Low Rider Saddle • Allows for a lower connection below the spring line • Retains proper slope on side service piping • Pre ‐ fabricated Reducing Wye’s – 4” & 6”

  7. Faction Fusion – QA/QC Testing “Our Connections are only as good as the verified test data” • Independent Third Party Testing 4” • Microbac Laboratory’s in Boulder, CO Quick Burst for 4” DR17 pipe per • Sustained Pressure Test ASTM 159 ‐ 14 362.5 psi • 1,000 hour per ASTM D1598 ‐ 15a – minimum burst pressures • 50 psi Faction Saddle 4” Joint results 420 psi • Quick Burst Test 45/T • ASTM D1599 ‐ 14 Quick Burst test results is 3.36x’s DR17 working pressure 125 psi • Field Verification Testing pipe working pressure • Visual Field Vacuum Pressure Test 21 ‐ 30 inches of Mercury (Hg) • Melt pattern/roll back beads • Empirical – 21 ‐ 30 inches of Mercury • At point of execution

  8. Faction Fusion – The Equipment • Main Equipment • Vacuum assisted heater/fusion plate • 8”, 10”, 12” – starter set • Vacuum pump • Heater • Pyrometer • Vacuum Cap • Vacuum hose and gauges • Ancillary • Scraper • Side wall gauge • Coring bits/hole saw • Clean up tools

  9. Faction Fusion – The Fusion Process • Gauge the pipe for roundness • Clean the pipe • Scrape the pipe • Heat the pipe via vacuum pressure • Heat/Bead Up mainline via vacuum pressure • Heat/Bead Up Saddle • Follow soak period/time • Remove heating iron • Set Saddle on Mainline and apply vacuum pressure 21” ‐ 29” of Hg • Cooling period – 1.5 minutes per diameter inch of pipe • Verify fusion seal via vacuum test • Reinstate service

  10. Faction Fusion – Fusion Certification Process • Trained and Certified by Faction Fusion • Can be trained by authorized & certified training company personnel • Required prerequisites • Butt fusion training • Four hour training and certification process • 1 hour classroom • 3 hours of fusion training • Re ‐ certification every 2 years • Certification is individualized but stay with the company if employee departs • Trainee would need to recertify under new company

  11. Field Method & Installation Steps 1) Scraping 3) Apply Vacuum to Mainline 2) Set the heater 4) Pre ‐ Heat Fitting for Bead ‐ up 5) Apply Vacuum to 7) Set the Fitting 6) Heat Soak Period 8) Cooling Cycle and Vacuum Fitting for Bead Up with Vacuum Assist Test

  12. Coring at Lateral Connection • Faction Saddle • Maximizes full diameter of wye connection • Does not protrude into the pipe • smooth transition from lateral connection to pipe wall • System designed shell cutter • Designed as a tight fit into the newly installed lateral • Designed to be single pass with minor cleanup

  13. Saddle to Lateral Connections • Butt Fusion • Electro Fusion • Rubber Coupling • PVC Bell – IPS/DIPS • Shielded Coupling • Pipe lateral butt end together City of LA – 6” 22 0 wye to 4” lateral

  14. Faction Fusion – Selected Installations • Southern California • City of Los Angeles • City of Brea • San Diego • Riverside • Escondido • La Jolla • Anaheim • Compton • Northern California • Oro Loma • Mill Valley • Sunnyvale • Redding
