Curiosity ¡trumps ¡knowledge ¡ It’s ¡okay ¡if ¡you ¡don’t ¡know ¡the ¡answers ¡either ¡(for ¡ some ¡of ¡these ¡quesDons ¡no ¡one ¡does). ¡ ¡ ¡ Curiosity ¡is ¡more ¡important ¡than ¡knowledge. ¡ Open ¡quesDons ¡become ¡placeholders ¡(parDal ¡models) ¡that ¡your ¡ child ¡can ¡fill ¡in ¡later. ¡ You ¡want ¡to ¡speak ¡so ¡your ¡child ¡can ¡understand, ¡but ¡in ¡conversaDons ¡where ¡the ¡ context ¡is ¡understood, ¡you ¡can ¡speak ¡at ¡the ¡edge ¡of ¡your ¡vocabulary. ¡ ¡Those ¡words ¡will ¡become ¡placeholders. ¡ Likewise, ¡watch ¡internaDonal ¡news ¡with ¡the ¡children. ¡Okay ¡if ¡ they ¡don’t ¡understand. ¡ Also: ¡Learning ¡is ¡also ¡more ¡important ¡than ¡grades. ¡
