What is open water swimming?
Mental - not just physical well being...
Where can you swim in your local area? Better still, where can you open water swim? Sadly, there are very few options... This is making use of the local environment, investing local community capital in it and can provide a return to the Lake and the community!
What about existing Lake users?
Is it safe?
Beckenham Place Lake - we can learn from other initiatives with similar challenges!
This will more than pay for itself... And can make a difference to the community and existing facilities
Community and the council can partner to make this work Merton are exploring the option with us but we need to really how them it is a worthwhile activity and that it is supported by locals - YOU!
Next step: work out the safest and the best swim!
“There are huge benefits to outdoor swimming from health to mental well being and an encouragement for people to look after their natural environment better…” (Ian Maceachern - supporter)
