• Project Area Residents have expressed interest in municipal water • Reports of insufficient quantity and poor water quality of residential wells • Leads to the hassle and cost of hauling water and/or purchasing bottled water
• Town currently has 6 existing water districts • One 135,000 gallon elevated storage tank • 2 interconnections with the Village of Sackets Harbor • 1 interconnection with the Village or Brownville • 1 interconnection with the Town/City of Watertown • 1 Booster Pump Station at Burton Road • Currently serves 687 Equivalent Dwelling Units (EDU)
• Approximately 12 miles of new water main, hydrants, valves and services • 182 EDU’s • $10.5 Million Estimated Cost • Project is “Turn - Key” – Laterals to every house will be included in project • Project will loop several areas of the Town’s System promoting better water quality
• New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (NYSEFC) • WIIA Grant – 60% of Project Cost up to $3 million • USDA Rural Development (USDA RD) • Intermediate Rate Financing and Grant (MHI between 80% - 100% Statewide) • Grant 45% of Project Cost, 1.875% 38 year Loan • Poverty Rate Financing and Grant (MHI below 80% Statewide) • Grant 75% of Project Cost, 1.375% 38 Year Loan
