Essay Highlights “I think growth starts with fear because it involves stepping out of one’s comfort zone which has the tendency to hold people back in life. If I do not challenge myself I will feel like I’m doing myself a disservice in the sense that I do not allow myself to reach my full potential as a researcher and a scholar.” “This is the first time someone told me that I can go to graduate school. This is the first time it mattered enough for someone to spark that possibility for me of even going to graduate school...I have the grit for it and every breath gives me a reason to keep going.”
