Focus of Technical Meeting • Complete and review work of the Working Groups • Develop final reports • Schedule high quality outputs to be published by IAEA (+ possible Special Issue of JRP + Journal Papers) • Discuss ideas for the future programme: • Important to align with wider safety objectives of IAEA and consider cross-cutting topics + continuing to respond to changing concerns of Member States • Opportunities this week to input ideas and suggestions for the next programme IAEA 2

  3. Suggestions for a new programme • Thank you for all your views and suggestions • This is the beginning of the planning process • Consider needs & priorities of Member States and links to the IAEA work programme & it ’ s functions / guidance • Important to discuss across IAEA and with Member States whether there are gaps in the guidance needed for RIA • Important to look at what tools, models and approaches are needed for different exposure situations and timescales eg complex vs simple approaches, data needs, links with monitoring data, how to present the results/data to regulators and interesting parties etc IAEA 3

  4. International Forum • One of the main strengths of MODARIA • Sharing, learning, discussing, developing models, consensus • Gaining new insights from new participants handling different situations • Training – important element and IAEA needs to think about how best to address this need in the future. IAEA 4

  5. 2020 • Consolidation of work from MODARIA I and II and publications. The Scientific Secretaries are here to help you • Publications are important to demonstrate the work done and the importance of the programme and linking research with application • Planning for next programme 2021- • Further discussions over coming months with range of interested parties + questionnaire • No fixed timetable but will be planning over next 6 – 9 months • Possible small TM to discuss ideas and plans further in 2020 IAEA 5
