At present time two legal entities are located on the territory of the former pulp and • paper mill «Tseprus» – JSC «Tsepruss» and LLC «Tsepruss». In fact, the «hot spot» No. 69 is formed by two sub-spots 69.1 – JSC Tsepruss and 69.2 – LLC Tsepruss. Sub-spot 69.1 – JSC «Tsepruss» currently does not produce anything and it is registered • as an object of negative impact of the IV category (minor negative impact). Tseprus Sub-spot 69.2 – LLC «Tsepruss» carries out activities on the water transport - • unloading and loading operations without water consumption and discharge of wastewaters in the river. The enterprise is registered as an object of negative impact of the III category. In 2008 the bankruptcy procedure was initiated against LLC «Nemansky PPM», and economic activities were discontinued in January 2014. The company is being managed by a liquidation committee. Reasons for the hot spot designation into the HELCOM’s list of hot spots • The enterprise was included in the HELCOM’s list of hot spots as a large contributor of Nemansky PPM pollutants (pulp and paper industry) into the Neman River. The enterprise has stopped its activities. The unit for the production of lignosulfonates, the oxygen bleaching plant of mass, the PM 1, rem emove s e sub-hot 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 was dismantled. The building of the former paper unit No. 2 was dismantled. Due to this HELCOM Recommendations 17/9 Reduction of discharges from the sulphite pulp industry and 16/4 Reduction of emissions into the spot № 50 atmosphere from the pulp-and-paper industry are fulfilled
Sulfite pulp production is closed. The company produces paper from imported raw materials, regeneration cookers, lime regeneration kilns on the enterprise are absent, because their use is not provided technology.
