Year 8 - 2018 • An opportunity to consolidate from Year 7 and ‘try something new’ at the same time. • Core- Religion, English, Mathematics, Science, HPE, Humanities • Electives: (preferential) • Pick at least one from The Arts and one from Technologies • Choose 2 more from any area • Japanese is studied all year (two semesters) • Music offered in year 8 as an elective • Digital Technologies and Design Technologies electives Southern Cross Catholic College

Year 9 - 2018 • Year 9 begins the transition into choosing subject pathways in Year 10 and through the Senior Years • A two year pathway in Year 9 & 10, but students choose subjects each year. • An opportunity to begin focusing on specific subject areas, or to continue to experience a wider subject offering. • Core - Religion, English, Mathematics, Science, HPE, History - Core HPE (one semester) • Electives: (preferential) • Choose 3 from any area • Japanese is studied all year (two semesters) • Do not place Japanese as a reserve subject as this will cause issues for your selections Southern Cross Catholic College

Year 10 - 2018 • Year 10 is a transition into choosing subject pathways into the Senior Years. • An opportunity to begin focusing on specific subject areas, or to continue to experience a wider subject offering. • Core - Religion (All year) - English, Mathematics, Science (specific levels) (All year) - Australian History & Core HPE (one semester) • Electives: (preferential) • Choose 4 from any area • Japanese & Cert I Hospitality are studied all year (two semesters) if chosen • Do not place Japanese or Hospitality as a reserve subject as this will cause issues for your selections Southern Cross Catholic College
