A NEW VISION FOR SPORT We are committed to providing University of Portsmouth students with the best possible sports package. We are exploring a new partnership between Sport & Recreation and the Students’ Union, as an opportunity to improve the quality of the sport offer at the University.
INCREASED SUPPORT FOR SPORT A partnership with Sport & Recreation could offer access to increased: ★ Staff supporting competitive sport ★ Improved access to sports facilities and create capacity to provide with the new sports centre better resource for societies and ★ More development opportunities non-BUCS sporting clubs with options around additional ★ More transport options where strength and conditioning, physio finding your own drivers may not and sports massage for clubs be an issue ★ More dedicated expertise to be ★ More coaching options with able to source and bid for funding professional and development to improve, strengthen and develop programmes our competitive clubs
SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK This is a student-led process, we need your input to create the best possible sport offer. All students can get involved through one or more of the following: ★ AU Zones 13th or 14th March, 6-8pm ★ Online Feedback Survey ○ Register to attend to hear further details and (open from 13th March until the end of ask any questions term) ○ Share your opinion on the partnership and ★ Focus Groups running throughout the package ○ Ask a question via our online feedback March survey ○ Register to join one of our focus groups ○ Further focus groups running later in the year

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT SO FAR Work on reshaping the entire Students’ Union began in 2015: ★ 3,000 student opinions in the ★ Roadshows around the 2016 Annual Survey & 3,500 University student opinions in the 2017 ★ VP Sports from 16/17 and 17/18 Annual Survey involved in developing the ★ Involvement of three sets of partnership approach with Sabbatical Officers University of Portsmouth ★ Champions from Union Actioning Body (UAB) and the Sabb team
NEXT STEPS Feedback gathered from students over the next few months will be used to finalise: ★ The elements of the sports ★ Define responsibilities and package expectations between the Students’ Union and the ★ The student leadership of clubs University of Portsmouth Options for the final sports package will go to an all student referendum in October / November 2018
