Steps you can take right now • Career planning is serious business – Take advantage of people who want to help, including: parents, friends, teachers, school counselors, etc. – Career information is everywhere! 1. Ask people about their jobs! Listen and try to picture yourself doing what they do. Some will interest you and others won’t, the only way to find out is to get as much information as possible 2. Learn what occupations are in demand. If the job you are interested in isn’t a realistic possibility, consider similar jobs that you would enjoy 3. Find out if you need college to get the job you want. Not all great jobs need college, but if the job you are interested in does, you need to know
