Curriculum Structure 2020 • BV Reads starts at 7.20 am every morning • Lessons are in 55-minute block • A copy of the time-table will be uploaded to the school website • To enhance student welfare in view of long school day: – 35 minutes recess time – 15 minute Snack Break at 12.15 pm – 35 minutes lunch break after school before academic support

Types of Assessment • Assessment is integral to the learning process • Teachers will conduct formative assessments to check for understanding throughout the term • For non-modular subjects, only one Weighted Assessment (WA) is conducted in each term (i.e Terms 1 to 3) • For modular subjects, marks from each WA will be distributed within the semester • Marks from each WA and End-of-Year Examination (EYE) will be entered in the MOE School Cockpit System for reporting • Examples of WA include: Class Test, Project, Journal

USE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES We Discipline Because We Care Learning Without Distractions Students are not allowed to use their electronic devices (Handphones, Tablets) • during curriculum hours (7.35 am to 1.50 pm) and after curriculum hours during academic support programme, structured revision and CCA. Such devices should be kept out of sight. Students can only use it when their teachers require them to do so. • The staff of the school has the right to confiscate these devices if they are not kept away or used responsibly, sensitively, and appropriately. Once confiscated, the school may require the presence of a parent or guardian before the confiscated device is returned to the student.
