  3. VISA REQUIREMENTS The Australian Government requires that you have an Australian visa to enter Australia, unless you are an Australian passport holder or qualifying New Zealand passport holder. For example, if you are travelling to Australia on holiday you will need a tourist visa. You can apply online for an instant ETA Tourist Visa (www.visabureau.com/Australia/touristvisa) or tourism trips up to three months. If you are traveling to Australia on business, you can obtain an ETA Business Visa . As visa requirement are different for each country we suggest you please seek advice from your travel authorities. INSURANCE AOCRA advise that we are unable to provide Personal Accident cover for overseas participants. We recommend you purchase before travelling your own travel insurance which includes medical cover while participating. We also request participants complete an International Indemnity form. We will forward these to all Area Coordinators.

  4. OPENING CEREMONY The opening ceremony will be held on Saturday 10 th at the Championship site. The Opening ceremony will include: A Welcome to Country, Canoe and paddler blessing. All details including time and assembly point will be advised. CULTURAL EVENING A Cultural evening will be held on Wednesday 14 th. All countries are invited to participate and perform a Cultural Item of no longer than 8 mins. Registration for your countries intent is via the Area Coordinator. CLOSING CEREMONY A Closing ceremony will be held following the final race and medal presentations on the last day. We will be hosting an after party. Further details on all ceremonies including the after party will be sent through the IVF to area coordinators in the coming weeks.

  5. AREA COORDINATORS There will be a designated tent for Country Area Coordinators, and we are negotiating to have Free Wi-Fi in this area. We request AC’s bring 2 country flags and a mp3 version of their countries official anthem on a USB stick. All canoes will have a tracking system on them. We will forward the link so family and friends can follow from home or wherever they are. Races will not be live streamed, but we are planning to video all races, and this coverage will be uploaded daily to our website and social media. We will also have photographers on course and at the race village to capture race action and event happenings. Dates and times for Area Coordinators Briefings will be advised. A short AC meeting will be held each morning to confirm the daily race course and answer any questions.   6. RACE SITE On site there will be food, merchandise and coffee vendors and market stalls. Close to the site there are also more food outlets including wonderful local seafood. We will also provide tents for competing countries and you will be allocated an area depending upon the size of your racing contingent. CANOE FAMILIARISATION A Canoe familiarisation schedule will be sent to all Area Coordinators and each country will be allocated 1 session. The length of the session will depend on the size of the countries racing contingent. We will be requesting via IVF to all Area Coordinators the arrival times of your paddling group. Saturday 17 th August 2019 Our initial plan was to host an Aito on this day. However, after further consideration we will not be having an Aito. We are now in the process of creating a more inclusive fun event involving all paddlers. More details on this will follow. There will be a small nominating fee for those wanting to take part.
