If we would follow Jesus, we must take up the cup.

If we would follow Jesus, we must lay down the sword.

Peter thought the kingdom of God could be won with the shedding of blood. So did Jesus. He just had his own, and not another’s in mind.

If we would follow Jesus, we must be in trusting communion with the Father.

Our hour has come. Take up the battle and lay down the sword.
