History of Photo Surrealism - Surrealism is an art and literature movement that peaked in the early twentieth century. Surrealism aimed at expressing imaginative dreams and visions free from conscious rational control. - Dreamlike conceptual photography - Photography emerged into surrealist activity with Man Ray and Maurice Tabard with the use of procedures such as double exposure, combination printing, montage, and solarization dramatically evoked the union of dream and reality.
The Process - Skoglund creates surrealist images by building elaborate sets or tableaux, furnishing them with carefully selected small children and other objects, a process of which takes her moths to complete.
