Interlocal Agreement Provisions • Begin partnership October 1, 2020 • Rowlett provides processing, housing, feeding, security, release. • Sachse provides medical clearance for Sachse prisoners prior to arrival in Rowlett as necessary. • Five year automatic annual renewal. • Fee determined annually, based upon salary/benefits of 1 Det. Ofc. • Can be terminated by either party upon 90 day notice. • Arraignment of Sachse prisoners by Sachse municipal judge.
Next Steps • Rowlett voted unanimously to enter into agreement during June 2, 2020 meeting. • Upon council approval, continuation of process and policy modification necessary for partnership. • Staff recommends authorizing the city manager to execute the interlocal agreement.
