What is a Title I School? • River Eves Elementary School is identified as a Title I school as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). • Title I is designated to support State and local school reform efforts tied to challenging State academic standards in order to reinforce and enhance efforts to improve teaching and learning for students . • Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support parent involvement .

What is our school’s designation status? (What does this mean?) River Eves Elementary School has not been given a school designation this year which means we are a Title I school that is continuing to provide a quality education to all of our students.
River Eves’ Schoolwide Program Schoolwide goals: • SMART GOAL #1 The percentage of students in grade 5 scoring at the proficient or distinguished on the Georgia Milestones social studies will increase by 3% for each grade in 2016. • SMART GOAL #2 The percentage of students in grades 1-5 scoring On/Above on STAR (Universal Screener) Reading will increase from 67% in Spring 2016 to 72% in Spring 2017. • SMART GOAL #3 The percentage of students in grades 3-5 scoring at the proficient or distinguished on the Georgia Milestones math will increase by 3% for each grade in 2016.
