So why the tool? • Consistent approach across Scotland • More flexible, relevant RA • Enable DWQR to better support RA • Opportunity to record digitally • Improve functionality – Registration, Mapping, Storage, Water Safety Plan
How did we get here? • Jan 2018 commenced project • 3 stages of user consultation • Sept 2018 6 2-day training workshops • Dec 2018 “sandpit” phase • Jan 2019 system goes live

DWQR Hopes New RA tool should be used for new / reviewed RAs • Phased approach, not a “Big Bang” – don’t stop risk assessing! • Ultimate aim to have all Regulated PWS on tool • Detailed implementation approach is up to LA • LA decision whether to register Exempt supplies • Some details (e.g. properties) may need to be refined over time • Drinking Water Safety Plan output will be useful in driving improvements & ownership
