  9. Per OHSSA guidelines, students who are participating in and/or plan to participate in interscholastic athletics must be passing a minimum of five “solids” at all times . It is the student and parents responsibility to ensure these criteria are met to ensure eligibility requirements. We strongly encourage student athletes to enroll in more than five solids .

  10.  Implement Physical Education Waiver  State provides this option for completing 2 full seasons of Interscholastic Athletics, Marching Band or Cheerleading  The waiver increases course options for students  Creates opportunities to customize their own academic plan  Not Retroactive

  11.  Senior “Flex” Time  Students classified as Seniors have the option to attend school for only the courses needed  Allows customization of individual student academic plan  Develop written “ Individual Graduation Plan” for all seniors – Spring of 2017

  13.  Opportunity again this year for Zero Period Lottery  Provide seventh bell option for sophomores and juniors only  Applications available starting TONIGHT  Completed applications turned in to Guidance Secretary no later than TUESDAY, MARCH 1 @ 3:00 pm  Placement is NOT on a first-come, first-served basis  Lottery will be held and individuals selected notified ASAP

To Graduate from Lakota East High School Students MUST:  Earn the Board Approved MINIMUM number of Credits (currently 20) AND  Complete one of three options:  Accumulate a minimum of 18 points on end-of- course exams (with a few exceptions)  Earn a college readiness score on the ACT/SAT  Industry certification and a work-readiness score on WorkKeys

  16. Lakota has selected the ACT Option and it will be given to all Juniors on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

  26.  Band – Page 13  All students interested will register for Band (7500) and placements into specific ensembles will be made based on auditions by directors.  There is a concert expectation with these courses  Symphonic Winds have performed all over the region.

  27.  Choir – Page 13  All students interested will register for Choir (7710) and placements into specific ensembles will be made based on auditions by director.  There is a concert expectation with these courses  Choirs consistently perform around the community for a variety of special events.

  28.  Acting – Page 13  Acting I/II/III are year long courses offered at the Main Campus only.  Prepares students to audition/participate in the Theater Productions  Theater Arts (7840) is a semester long course with a backstage focus including set design, audio, lighting
