BE HEARD, BRONCOS! Frequently Asked Questions: Do I need a photo ID or proof of citizenship to vote or to register ? No. You will be asked for a photo ID when you vote or register in person. If you don’t have one, you can sign a simple form and then register or vote. You can also use your BroncoID as a form of identification. Can I register to vote in Michigan if I have an out-of-state ID? Yes! But you can't register online. We recommend going to your local clerk's office in person to register and vote early in one trip (starting September 25). Confirm the approved methods of proof of residency before you make the trip. Can I drop off my absentee ballot at any secure dropbox? No. Voting is geographic, so you can only drop off your ballot at the clerk's office where you are registered. To find your clerk, visit Michigan.gov/Vote. If you choose to send your ballot via mail, it can be dropped off at any blue USPS collection bin. Is absentee/mail-in voting secure? Yes. Voting by mail, or absentee voting, is very secure and accurate. To learn more about the AV process and security measures, visit Michigan.gov/Vote
