Public Involvement Meeting WIS 118 US 63 – WIS 112 Ashland and Bayfield Counties March 24, 2020

Purpose of Meeting • Review purpose and need for project • Describe proposed improvements • Discuss anticipated impacts • Review project schedule • Receive public input

Need for Project • Roadway surface on WIS 118 is deteriorating. • Some sections of the WIS 118 pavement have settled. • Several culvert pipes need maintenance.

Proposed Improvements • Deep mill and overlay WIS 118. • Conduct additional underlying pavement repairs in settled areas after milling. • Replacing one culvert and rehabilitating several other culverts. • Paving side road approaches. • Refreshing gravel shoulders and emergency turnouts.

Property Impacts • Project expected to be constructed within existing right of way.  No real estate is anticipated to be acquired. • Temporary driveway closures will be necessary during parts of the construction process.  Will coordinate with property owners during these periods.

Traffic Management During Construction • Construction currently is scheduled for summer of 2021. • WIS 118 will be closed to through traffic and detoured. • WIS 118 will be open to local traffic.  Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures and flagging operations. • WIS 118 may be closed in both directions for culvert construction.  These closures are anticipated to last 2-3 days each.
