Score Percentiles Gives you an idea of where you stand in relation to all 8th grade students in the country who took the PSAT. This student tested as well or better than 23% of 8th graders. 5

Next Steps ▪ Review your scores with your parents ▪ Plan to take challenging courses in high school ▪ Sign up on Khan Academy and link your scores for a personalized study program ▪ Use CHOICES 360 (we will show you this today), as well as The College Board’s Additional Resources to help you research careers, colleges, and scholarships. 6

High School Courses: Take the most difficult classes that you can comfortably take. This means matching your current abilities (PSAT) with your interests (band, sports, theater, etc) so that you stay challenged, but not overwhelmed. 8

SUBSTITUTE ASSESSMENT ▪ For the 2018-2019 school year, MS students enrolled in an EOC course in middle school will take the EOC ▪ We will not be using PSAT 8/9 as a substitute assessment for middle school students ▪ Per the Commissioner, we will have updated information for the 2019-2020 school year ▪ Students may use their PSAT 8/9 scores as a substitute assessment when they are enrolled in HS
