City of Oakland Broadway Transit Line Project Goals Feasibility Study & Alternatives Analysis Funded by $300,000 Urban Transit Planning Studies grant from Caltrans. Assess costs, benefits and impacts of new transit line on Broadway

  1. City of Oakland Broadway Transit Line Project Goals Feasibility Study & Alternatives Analysis • Funded by $300,000 Urban Transit Planning Studies grant from Caltrans. • Assess costs, benefits and impacts of new transit line on Broadway from Jack London to MacArthur BART. • Evaluate different mode alternatives for a Broadway Transit Line (bus and rail) • Seek answers to key questions about the BTL concept: – How much would it cost? – How would it be funded (capital and O &M)? – Would it travel in dedicated or mixed-flow lanes? – Who would operate it? – What impact would it have on the local and regional transit networks?
