COMPREHENSIVE STREET PLAN • City Council adopted plan for maintaining our streets and alley system. • New Brighton has about 64 miles of streets and alleys. • Streets are rehabilitated about every 25 to 30 years. • Rehabilitate about 2.1 miles per year. • Rehabilitate on a neighborhood basis to minimize disruption.
STREET IMPROVEMENTS • 0.86 miles of streets in project corridor • Last rehabilitated in 1990 • Streets to be constructed to their original width • Remove and replace bituminous pavement and base material • Replace broken and settled curb and gutter • Pedestrian ramp ADA upgrades
WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS • Watermain is C.I.P. with a low break frequency; will not be replaced • 10 hydrants will be replaced based on age and no longer producing parts for repairs
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS • Sewer mains televised. No issues found requiring open cutting of street • Flex Seal 16 manholes
STORM SEWER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS • Replace 7 existing block‐built structures with precast concrete structures • Remove catch basin from driveway (Eastman Dr/Robin Ln) • Flex Seal 14 catch basins • Replace existing grates on 6 catch basins
FUTURE RAILROAD QUIET ZONE • Potential future project • 7 Quiet Zones identified • 11 at‐grade crossings • Quiet Zone requirements • Crossing gates, flashing lights, and constant warning time devices • Must be at least 1/2 mile in total length • Must include vehicle channelization (median island or delineators) to prevent motorists from driving around gate arms

INFORMATIONAL MEETING ‐ NOTES Access to property • Residents will have access to their driveways during construction, except when major construction activity is happening adjacent to their property. On street parking • The City asks that no one park on the street while construction is underway unless it is necessary due to curb or driveway replacement. Water • Specified areas of watermain will need to be shut down during hydrant replacements. Garbage / Recycling Services • Garbage and recycling service will continue as normal. Helpful to label garbage cans. Mail Service • City to work with Post Office. It is anticipated temporary mailbox clusters will need to be installed.
