Governor’s Early College Scholar’s Program  Allows eligible high school students to complete their high school diploma while earning at least 15 hours of transferable credits toward a college degree.  Reduces the expense of college tuition for families.  Recognition on transcript and certificate signed by the Governor.  Shows colleges that you have taken college level courses and are college ready.

Qualifications for the Governor’s Early College Scholar’s Program  Have a “B” average or better;  Be pursuing an Advanced Studies Diploma;  Take and complete college-level course work (i.e., Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment) that will earn at least 15 transferable college credits;  Earn a “3” or higher on the AP examinations; and  Sign the “Governor’s Early College Scholar’s Agreement.”

Early College Scholars Agreement  Participating students sign an Early College Scholar’s Agreement which is also signed by the student's parents or guardians, principal, and school counselor.  Students who meet the terms of the agreement are recognized as Early College Scholars on their transcript and receive a certificate of recognition from the Governor.
