Problem Identified PROBLEM DESCRIPTION How does a small business owner (personal services) keep her business going and keep her cashflow afloat? REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE FOR THE PROBLEM IDENTIFIED WHY IS IT AN URGENT PROBLEM? The loss of income due to COVID19 particularly affects single mothers since often they are the only income source for their families. This potentially affects the nutrition, education and wellbeing of children in these families .

Solution HOW DOES YOUR SOLUTION ADDRESS THE IDENTIFIED PROBLEM? Some woman image GenMum is a service-based platform that helps Covid-19 affected women entrepreneurs who are single mothers to get connected to business-oriented-help from mentors and industry experts. They get the right advice and professional connections to sustain their businesses. It is a platform that empowers these women entrepreneurs and makes them ready to pivot their businesses in the Covid-19 market situation.
User Experience HOW DOES THE UX OF YOUR SOLUTION LOOK LIKE? We arrived at the solution using the Design SOLUTION thinking principles which involved 5 SCREEN SHOTS (MOCKUPS brainstorming, sketching followed by / SKETCHES) prototyping. AND /OR Our justification for choosing an App based platform was to facilitate access to all A VIDEO income levels. Process DESIGN PROCESS To get a better understanding of the problem of our target and its possible solutions, we did an exercise where one of us would act like the targeted person and the rest would ask REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE TO him/her questions about his/her situation (related with the HIGHLIGHT THE PROCESS covid/business). We ended up with two different FOLLOWED user-personas among the same niche. This allowed us to deeply understand them and to be creative about open solutions. We had a rough idea in the beginning of what the solution could be. At the end of the exercise, we realized that they needed two things: a) business relevant-guidance/support b) clients/inflow of cash to business c) potential business collaborations that brings visibility.

Some of the ideas that we think can help us implement REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE our solution are listed below : INDICATING HOW YOU WOULD EXECUTE YOUR - Create a community of women entrepreneurs on IDEA/SOLUTION Facebook - Set up a research team to identify key challenges - Build an MVP (1-2 months) (developers and designers) to get our facebook members (women) to sign up - Mentors/industry experts connections to guide - Marketing to reach out to a wider audience - Support center to resolve issues - Identify potential partnerships for GenMum
