The PRAC is a little over 100 days old Our mandate in the CARES Act is broad: • Conduct independent investigations, audits, PRAC and reviews relating to covered funds or the Coronavirus response; Overview • Collaborate on audits and reviews relating to covered funds with any Inspector General of an agency; and • Provide support to relevant agency Inspectors General in conducting investigations, audits, and reviews relating to the covered funds and Coronavirus response.
Our initial focus has been on developing a state-of- the-art website to achieve our Transparency mission; we plan to award a contract later this week for a vendor to build the website PRAC Our vision is: Overview • To be a force multiplier for the oversight community as a whole • Establish a leading-edge, data-driven analytics capability to enhance oversight • Develop innovative forums to engage the public, academia and both ensure transparency of covered funds and enhance oversight of those funds
To date, some of our key accomplishments: • Developed and launched pandemic.oversight.gov • Held a virtual listening session with over a PRAC dozen witnesses • Recruited PRAC senior staff members Overview • Issued Top Management Challenges report • Began weekly coordination meetings with OMB to discuss data challenges and overcome barriers • Developed mechanisms to seamlessly coordinate oversight work across the federal, state and local government
