About MI School Data MI School Data is the State of Michigan’s official source for pre ‐ K, K ‐ • 12, postsecondary and workforce data to help residents, educators and policymakers make informed decisions to improve student success. • The site offers multiple levels and views for statewide, intermediate school district, district, school and college level information. Data are presented in graphs, charts, trend lines and downloadable spreadsheets to support meaningful evaluation and decision making. 3

Student Pathways Data Files • Student Pathways allows secondary K ‐ 12 and postsecondary staff to see individual ‐ level college transcript and K ‐ 12 data under the guidance and compliance of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Student Pathways are downloadable SECURE data files • These data files contain information on postsecondary students who • o Attended a public Michigan high school OR o Attended a Michigan community college or university that reports to STARR 15

How can I get Secure Access to MI School Data? • CEPI will send communications when independent IHE keyholders are available • MI School Data and CEPI do not handle individual user accounts; contact your entity’s Secure Login Authorizer available under “Help” • You must be employed with a school, district, ISD, community college or university partnered with STARR, or be an agent of any of the above Reason for requesting access must • be FERPA ‐ compliant 19

Upcoming Redesign • This summer, MI School Data will be launching a redesigned website • The new site contains the same reports, but with a new look and feel and new ways to find and analyze data • Navigation will function similarly to the current site, but some reports will have new locations and/or names 21
