Tonight’s Agenda • Student Responsibility • Curriculum overview – Science, Math, Language Arts, Social Studies • Important information – Infinite Campus – Tutoring, Tax Credit Note: Because this is a public forum, we are unable to discuss any specific student concerns at this time. We will be hosting AT RISK conferences in early August.
Student Responsibility ● Welcome to the wonderful world of Junior High School! :) ● Now that students are out of elementary school, there are different expectations regarding student responsibility
Student Responsibility ● The STUDENTS are the one who should be responsible for missing, late, or absent work ○ Teachers and parents should let students take the initiative to let the students take the lead (eg emailing whenever there is a missing assignment)
Student Responsibility ● Many students will struggle (and that is OK) ○ Adjusting to junior high can be challenging and grades, behavior, and attitude may be affected ○ It’s a time for growth and to learn from your mistakes
