  3. Student Support Services Currently: Student Supports Services are coordinated by the Assistant Superintendents for Curriculum and Instruction and the Director of Special Services. Proposal: Full time Coordinator in place of the Director of Literacy position to focus on student support services.

  4. Student Support Services Student support goals align with DCIP Tenet 5: 1. Assess, align and lead all student support services pre-k to 21 2. Develop a District Student Success Plan 3. Ensure accurate data and data-driven outcomes 4. Develop innovative solutions and programs 5. Lead the use of the new Title 4a Grant funds to launch drop out prevention programs and improve attendance 6. Record and analyze interventions 7. Ensure that restorative practices and alternatives to suspension are part of our school code of conduct, culture and practices 8. Explore and coordinate social emotional learning curriculums 9. Collaborate with central office leadership to improve school counseling services 10. Collaborate with the Parent/Family Community Liaison

Elementary Assistant Principal Proposal Leadership Responsibilities and Expectations : • Assist the Principal in providing leadership, direction, and oversight for the administrative and instructional functions of the school. • Supervise assigned personnel, conduct evaluations (APPR) and make recommendations for appropriate employment actions. • Oversee the administration of all testing programs at the school. • Oversee student attendance • Oversee Professional Development that is embedded in the school day • Assist Principal with interviews and selection of personnel. • Assist in providing teachers and students with a safe and secure teaching/learning environment. • Supervise extracurricular activities. • Work with staff to establish a plan for personal and professional growth. • Oversee curriculum development and instructional practices in all content areas • Be visible • Support and attend community functions. • Assist in preparing and disseminating newsletters, memos, and letters. • Make presentations to faculty, students, and parents as requested by the Principal. • Participate in parent organization meetings. • Deal with emergency situations such as facilities problems, student disciplinary incidents, and safety. • Investigate student accidents and other incidents and take appropriate action • Participate on District Level Committees • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education or the Superintendent of Schools.
