JAWS Architecture • Built using JAVA Enterprise Edition – Proven, Reliable, Secure and highly scalable – Central Application is Web Based – Mobile Devices use Android – Secure web services synchronise data • Runs stand-alone or clustered • Can use wide range of SQL databases – Default is MySQL community
Supported Platforms • Operating Systems – Windows – Linux • Application Servers – Tomcat, jBoss, Glassfish • Database – All major databases supported
High Availability and Failover • At server, expect between 99% and 99.9% pa; including planned maintenance – Using multi-server cluster – Database and Application server – Automatic database failover and recovery • Can be increased, or decreased; depending on needs and budget – Worst case, system could be re-built from scratch within 6 hours (from hardware and backups)
Costs • Largely depend on number of images per job • Number of users • Back up requirement's for servers • Can be as little as 18k P/A
