Starting School Times Pupils Starting Days and Times All new pupils starting Reception will have a staggered intake for their first two weeks of school: 1 9am-11.30am Mornings only For your child’s first couple of sessions, they will begin at 9am. 2 8.50am-1.20pm Mornings & * 8.40am-Soft Start Lunch 3 8.50am-3.25pm Full day * 8.40am- Soft Start

  9. Key Date Thursday 29 th June AM (Stay and Play) 9:15am to 10am 10:30am to 11:15am Please enter via the red gates and wait on the pavement by the main hall. All parents will be required to stay in the small hall on the 29 th June. Please ensure you can attend. You may have to complete important forms during your child’s ‘Stay & Play’ session and it will be a good opportunity to meet other parents.

  10. Home Visits • Not all children will get a home visit. • All parents of children who do not attend a setting currently will get a home visit. • The dates are: 26 th June, 27 th June, 28 th June • Our visits will be brief and focused.

  11. Home School Agreement • Keep the white copy at home. • The signed yellow copy stays in school.

  12. Attendance and Punctuality We expect pupils to: • attend school regularly- 96% attendance Year Reception Attendance 2014-2015 94% 2015-2016 94.3% 2016-2017 (currently) 95.1% Please inform school if your child is going to be late or absent by telephoning before 9.30am (Attendance and Punctuality agreement) The school will not authorise any holiday.

  13. Intimate Care • Toilet training “…it is expected that parents/carers will have trained their child to be clean and dry before they start school.”

  14. Welfare Matters • Medical Needs • Allergies • Sickness and Diarrhoea - 48 hours absence must follow • Temperature - 24 hours absence must follow • Administration of medicines requires prior written consent • Welfare office is located opposite the hall

  20. The First Few Weeks We will support your child to settle in and feel • happy and safe in their new environment. We will spend time with all children to learn • more about their interests. We will use this information to help us plan for • their individual needs.

  21. What is the Early Years Foundation Stage? The (E.Y.F.S.) is the stage of Education for children from birth to the end of the Reception year. It is based on the recognition that children learn best through play and active learning. Further information about the EYFS Curriculum will be shared with parents.
