WIDER SCHOOL OPENING FROM JUNE 8TH 2020 Dear Parents/Carers, We hope you are well and your children are looking forward to returning to school after ten weeks of lockdown! As we informed you previously, Kingshurst Primary will be beginning its phased return of pupils on Monday. However this will be very different in timings and logistics. In this guide, we have tried to give you the information you need to bring your children to school safely and also give a little insight into what classrooms will look like next week. WIDER SCHOOL OPENING FROM JUNE 8TH 2020 The school kitchen will be open and serving hot lunch choices. There will be one hot and one vegetarian option. Lunches will be eaten in the hall (or hopefully outside if the weather stays fine). Children will remain with children in their bubble and will not mix with others during this time. Children will order these in the same way as previously and those not eligible for either free schools meals or the universal free school meal offer (EYFS and KS1) should pay via parent pay. WIDER SCHOOL OPENING FROM JUNE 8TH 2020 As children may well have grown a lot since March and with many shops closed, we appreciate it has been difficult to source new uniform. As a result, we have decided that it is not expected for children to wear school uniform on their return to school. However, guidance recommends clean clothes every day to help reduce the spread of the virus. Therefore, during the Summer term, the emphasis will be on ' clean and smart ' rather than exact school uniform. We will be using the outside area whenever possible so children do need to wear comfortable, secure footwear – children cannot bring in a change of footwear for break or PE times.
Water bottles Children should bring in their own named water bottles. These must be taken home every day to be cleaned. Protection from the sun Break time snacks Children may bring in their own healthy snack for break time. No sharing allowed. Please ensure your child has sun cream already applied – staff will not be able to apply sun cream to any children. Older children may apply this Medical themselves but must not share their personal sun cream bottles. Please refer to the First Aid Policy for details. If your child uses an inhaler, this will be available as Children will spend time outdoors whenever usual in the classroom and when outdoors. Other details: Children will be classed as one bubble but will be split into their phases. These children will be taught by the same group of adults who have been assigned to this bubble. Depending on numbers, phases may merge but will always remain within this one bubble. Class 2EM (Phase 1 children) Class 2B (Phase 2 children) Class 2S (Phase 3 children) Children will be ready for collection from the hall doors between 3:15pm and 3:30pm Please adhere to social distancing when dropping off and collecting your child.
Information about Pupil Bubbles: Children will be taught in separate year group bubbles – recognised by a colour band. Children will wear a wristband – this will be their own wristband. Nursery children will not have a coloured wristband but will still form a bubble.

Use these lines when queueing as this will ensure you adhere to social distancing regulations. School staff will be there to welcome your child and guide you in the right direction.

If your child is walking to and from school independently, please ensure you have discussed with them how they should enter and leave. There is a personal space to sit at and return to during the day. Resources they will need regularly during the day will be specific to them and kept in their resource tray. There will be a focus on helping the children prepare for secondary school, some creative activities (and of course a little Maths and English!)
