Things you could do • 1) Minimize the habits of distraction – Home learning area away from noise and other distractions – mobile phone, mp3 players, internet restrictions • 2) Create a consistent work space for study – A place for studying, creating a habit • 3) Ask key questions regarding home learning : – What are you doing? Why do you have to do that?
Home Learning Main Purpose: Consolidation and further practice of concepts studied in class. • Preparation for the next lesson….or assessment • Home learning tasks may take the following forms: Worksheet • Online mathematical worksheet (usually MyMaths) • Research; e.g. for ‘flipped learning’ (occasionally) • Preparation for assessment • Developing posters, revision materials etc. • Puzzles •
