Grades/Report Cards Questions about “NG” on your report card. This means you passed the class but did not receive credit because you had too many absences. Right now the only way to get credit for these classes is to retake the class in summer school or next year. Credit Attempted – this is how many classes you were taking. For most of you this is 4. Credit Earned – this is the actual number of credits you earned. You can earn a total of 8 credits a year.
Grades/Report Cards CREDITS 6 credits to be a SOPHOMORE (10 th ) 12 credits to be a JUNIOR (11 th ) 18 credits to be a SENIOR (12 th ) 26 Credits to GRADUATE You can earn 4.0 credits per semester You can earn 8.0 credits per year
Course Selection We will begin selection of classes for next year in mid- February. The classes you passed or did not pass this year determines what classes you take next year. You can take classes in summer school to make up for lost credit.
Attendance Policies Truancy Officers: Mr. Zeno and Mrs. Ugalde You are tardy if you are not IN YOUR CLASSROOM when the bell rings @ 8:25 A.M. or when the tardy bell rings each period If you miss more than 30 minutes of a class, regardless of the reason, you are absent. MUST turn in a note to the attendance office within 3 days after absence Truancy can and will be filed after three absences. You will lose credit for a class after 4 unexcused absences. You will then have to retake the class the following year.

Interventions • Tutorials every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. • Ask teachers for extra help or when they are available. • Come by Dean’s office for a list of tutorial times and dates for each teacher.

Other issues/discipline • Tardies/skipping class will not be tolerated. • We are conducting random hall sweeps during the day. • The office does not issue passes if students are late. Just go to class and sign in with your teacher. • This is one of the biggest reasons for students not earning credit for a class.
Other issues/discipline (cont.) • Behavior in the classroom. • We expect students to act accordingly in the classroom, regardless if your teacher is there or it is a substitute teacher. • Leaving campus is not allowed. • ID’s must be worn at all times. • If students need a temporary ID, They must get it before 5 th /6 th period. We will not issue temporary ID’s once lunch starts.
Other issues/discipline (cont.) • Cell phone/electronics policy. • Can only be used before/after school and during lunch. • If any staff member asks for your electronic device, you are required to give it to them. • If you refuse, it is an automatic referral to the office. • If an electronic device is stolen or lost, the school or police officers will not look for it.
Power UP • Computers will be issued the week of January 25 th . • When you get your computer, you must log in with your own ID and password. • You can still sign a waiver and pay your $25 non refundable deposit. • This can be done at the front office. • Mr. Strong has more information.
