The Tropical Fruit Co. has 7 years producing Pineapple MD2, in 2013 we exported more than 140,000 boxes, by 2018 we will export an estimate of 250,000 boxes and the projections for 2020 is to add value to our product as pineapple Frozen for the industry of processing of juices, jams, canned, etc ... In 2010 we built a modern packing plant within the production estates to ensure the quality of the fruit, with capacity of more than 500,000 boxes per year as part of the expansion plan for the next years. From 2008 to 2015 we were exporting to Belgium, United Kingdom and United States. We were the first company to certify ourselves as Fair Trade Contracted Work Company in Panama, since 2015 we have exported to Switzerland with plans to enter the process industry of Asian countries
Tropical Fruit Co. has the infrastructure, machinery and equipment necessary to develop the operation from planting to harvesting maintaining high quality standards.
As part of the infrastructure, is the modern packaging plant with an investment of more than 800,000 USD which gives us the advantage of guaranteeing the processing of all the fruit that for a period of 13 months has been cultivated. Variety Golden Sweet (also known as MD2), a variety highly desired in international markets for its extra sweet taste, high content of vitamin C, golden color of the shell, and tropical flavor. The pineapple plant needs between 12 and 14 months to produce a unique fruit that weighs between 3 and 5 pounds. After a year the plant will produce another fruit, smaller than the first. Nutritional Features: Pineapple has a low content of saturated fats, cholesterol and sodium. It is an important source of fiber, thiamine, vitamin B6 and copper, as well as vitamin C and magnesium. It has diuretic and detoxifying properties .
