  4. Some customers still lubricate like this… 2004 Automotive Plant(MI) …quality control is not consistent.

  5. Brush Type Delivery Systems: Traditional Approach 1. Poor application method to reach the pin area. 2. Lube is not applied with force. 3. Brush doesn’t clean chain. 4. Brush wears out. 5. Brush collects contamination. 6. This methodology tends to over lubricate. Lubrication the “Old Fashioned” Way

  6. ORSCO Oil-Spray Systems: “The Concept” Delivery air Spray System oil Component Systems: Standard Spray Nozzles: VS & VSR Series (OEM’s - PLC) SWN, SFN, STN (continuous) Series 170 (standard) TPN, TFN, TCN (pulse) Series 175 (Smart System – NEW!) ORSCO solutions are a combination of a delivery system and a spray component. A vast number of options and possibilities are possible and designed with consideration of the customer’s needs in mind.

  11. Standard Systems: Series 170 Oil Spray System Both systems only include feed back for low oil level and low incoming air pressure – both outputs can signal a PLC for an appropriate response. Injectors require a minimum The food industry typically requires a stainless steel “system air pressure” of 65 PSI enclosure. or 4.5 bar to operate.

  13. Basic Nozzle Types: Continuous or Pulse? The black circle shown below is the check ball/valve in the spray nozzle. Continuous- -Spray Nozzle Spray Nozzle Continuous The continuous spray nozzles have the check valve in the nozzle body. oil This allows for a greater metering distance and provide the capability of air/oil applying the smallest amounts of mix lubricant. The amount of oil being air applied will determine the thickness of the oil on the inside of the bore of the nozzle tip going to the exit point. SWN, SFN, STN Nozzle Families Pulse- -Spray Nozzle Spray Nozzle Pulse The pulse spray nozzles are designed to provide a different capability than our continuous spray nozzles. With the check valve located at the tip of the nozzle, we create the best possible design to prevent dripping air/oil that is critical in some applications. air mix This is especially critical when the nozzle placement is vertical and pointing downward. 17. Standard Systems: VSR Series Systems w/ “Millennium Timer” optional controls with: VSR Series System 120 VAC, 240 VAC, 24 VDC -this product option is for continuous for continuous spray systems only, and is a low cost applications only. method to control injector cycle rate. This set up allows the customer to send power to the unit, and it will deliver the amount Millennium Timer Options Off Time Adjustment P/N: MCT-00001 (2.1 to 200 seconds) of lubricant equal to the volume produced P/N: MPT-00001 (0.5 to 5 seconds) the injector size. Turning off the power, P/N: MCT-00002 (4 to 400 seconds) turns off the system. “On-Time” adjustment is approximately 0.5 seconds

  18. “Air-Only” VSR Series System This standard product derivative was designed for applications where customers either did not have the resource of electrical power, or applications where electricity was prohibited because of concerns about caustic environmental issues(explosions). In applications where there is a great deal of air-born dust, or similar debris, there is a high potential for explosions. This system will function and deliver lubrication without electricity. In the standard VS/VSR Series model code simply substitute a “P” for the field where you would normally input a voltage preference. VSR-P Series Dual Regulator Configuration Shown (VSR-P Series)

  19. Smart Systems Approach - lube delivery volume changes dynamically with demand. - usually varies with respect to a customer input like drive motor amperage.

  20. Smart Systems Approach Drive Chain Series 300 – closed inner & outer loop (transducer based) Series 250 – closed inner & outer loop (pressure-switch based) Series 175 – closed outer loop only Spray Nozzles VS Series Spray oil System air PSI inner loop (line monitoring) PLC Controls PSI Horner PLC (ORSCO standard) Drive motor outer loop (amperage monitoring) September 8, 2004
