 Kindergarten to Grade 6 2.5 to 5 yrs 2017, we have 30+ waitlisted students plus an elementary waitlist. 3 unborn children are also on the daycare waitlist. WE ARE BURSTING AT THE SEAMS

Squamish Montessori is: • The 2nd largest AMI based school in BC • Provincially funded Independent School receiving $330,000 Provincial Grants to supplement fee’s • Tuition and grants cover OPERATING COSTS ONLY • Valuable alternative schooling option alongside SD48, SD93/L’école Les Aiglons and Waldorf • Society recently awarded $429,000 Capital Grant to build 50 new daycare spaces in Squamish

Staff & Training ● 18 Staff (14 full-time) ● Qualified teaching staff are highly trained with undergraduate degrees, Montessori diplomas and BC Independent Teacher Certification and in some cases Graduate Degrees ● All Casa teachers have their Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification ● We have trained >18 practicuum students

Our Quest for a New School 100+ • Began in 2007 DAY CARE • DHD/Skyridge was the first feasible deal CHILDREN presented 2 years ago and an amazing and unique opportunity • Due diligence took 2 years; to review feasibility, create project structure, and review legal and financial considerations • Skyridge/DHD new school deal is only 150+ possible through the vision and support of Jason Wood and his commitment to our CHILDREN 
 Montessori School as a Parent and & FAMILIES supporter of our communities long-term goal.

  7. Going Forward New School Project: Squamish Montessori at Skyridge ✓ July 1 st Tender Process Launch ✓ July 1 st Interior Design Begins ✓ Aug 1 st Request Building Permit ✓ October 1 st Break Ground 2018/9 2016 ✓ Projected Fall 2019 Opening 150 + Students 130 Students

  8. Squamish Montessori at Skyridge, 2018/19 50 Daycare Children (new spaces) 120 Grade K to 6 Kids (+/-100% increase) Forestry Building: At least 63 current children move to Skyridge 75 Daycare children

The Deal: • The Society and DHD through it’s Skyridge development have formed a new company (SMS Dev Corp) for the purpose of designing, developing, financing, building and operating a new school facility • The Skyridge development has sold a piece of land to SMS Dev Corp for $0 down at approximately 25% of it’s market value if it was sold as building lots • The land will be used as collateral to fund a mortgage used to build the new facility • The Society will lease the school for 10-15 years at a lease rate equal to the mortgage payments • In 10-15 years, Skyridge will donate it’s ownership in SMS Dev Corp to the Society and the Society will own the company, the school and the land outright

  10. Our Funds $125k BF Funds Total Available Mortgage Raised Funds $3.2 to $4 Value of $429k the Land to Build School Million Grant

  11. Work in Progress • Re-evaluating options to take best advantage of the layout of the land and provide full opportunities for future expansion

Our School • 6 Room School • 4 Elementary Classrooms • 2 Casa Classrooms • Dedicated washrooms for both CASA and Elementary • Office space and storage for both CASA and Elementary • Cubbies and coat-hooks for all • Safe and accessible parking and drop off • Outdoor play space (covered and non-covered)

  13. Looking Ahead • Engage an Advancement Superhero on commission (now)to lead the fundraising and donor management efforts Potential Future Additions: • A Gym • A Multi Purpose Room • 2 more Elementary Classrooms
