  3. Who We Are: Mission Statement The Geneva School of Manhattan exists to provide a time- proven classical education within a biblical worldview. We inspire students to love learning, pursue excellence, and become leaders in scholarship, virtue, and faith.

  4. Our Goals • To instill a lifetime love of learning • To engage the mind and nourish the spirit • To nurture Christ- centered faith and character

  5. Our Portrait of a Graduate Graduates of The Geneva School of Manhattan exhibit integrity, leadership, and a passion for learning. They strive for mastery in all areas of academics, the arts, and athletics. They have learned the art of public speaking and the craft of cogent writing. They are critical thinkers and wise debaters, able to discern truth in a world of pluralistic philosophies. They desire to use their spiritual and academic gifts in service to others, bringing honor and glory to God. They are equipped to succeed in a challenging and rigorous high school environment. Geneva School graduates strive for excellence in all aspects of life and seek to be leaders in scholarship, virtue, and faith.

  8. 1. Classroom Environment • Nurturing – Teachers are shepherds – Encourage and pray for the students – Help students develop good habits • Conducive to learning – Active mind and body – Clear expectations – Intentional planning

  9. 2. Student Responsibility • Clear boundaries • Accountability • Independence • Three simple rules – Use kind words – Keep hands to yourself – Follow directions

  10. 3. Daily Rhythms • Punctuality: Be on time • Preparation: Come prepared for school – Nutrition: Healthy meals & snacks – Rest: Age-appropriate sleep patterns • Protocols: Recommended routines, as outlined in the Parent Handbook – Dress: School uniform – Habits: Homework and study habits

  11. 4. Technology • No screen time from Monday to Thursday • Based on emerging research about adverse effects of screen time, especially on developing brains • Good examples to be set by parents – Set firm boundaries – Model personal screen discipline

  12. 5. Parent Involvement A. Fall: Geneva Fund – 100% participation – An important indicator to external donors B. Spring: Geneva Gala C. Parent Time Commitment

  15. Parent Council Objective s The Geneva School Parent Council (PC) is a volunteer organization that supports the Geneva School Mission. Its objectives are to: • Partner with the Administration and Teachers to help instill a love of learning by Prayer Partnership providing classroom coordination, reducing administrative burden on teachers and staff. • Help create an atmosphere of Christian fellowship where families can share their faith within the classroom and amongst the Geneva School community. Fellowship Service • Demonstrate Christ-centered character by promoting service and volunteer opportunities within the classroom and amongst the Geneva School community. 15
