Naviance Program ➢ Naviance is a web-based resource for staff, students, and parents that encourages and supports post high school career and college planning. This program is available K-12. ➢ The Clinton School Counselors are currently using Naviance for students in grades 6-12. ➢ Program features used will aide in the students’ understanding of self, provide opportunities for reflection on their strengths, personality, learning styles and interests as it pertains to college and career planning.
Key Features of Naviance ➢ Student and Family Engagement Allow students to build personalized learning goals and success plans with the support of their parents/guardians ➢ Success Planning Create short-term tasks for long-term goals. ➢ Career Planning Assess individual skills and areas of interest and use this information to explore careers. ➢ College Planning Help students discover college programs that match their career goals.

Program Benefits ➢ For Students: ○ Understanding of strengths can help with academic performance and career/college planning ( ex. Learning Styles Inventory, etc) ○ Access to Resume Builder for college and careers ○ Exploring relevant career clusters focuses Career Day placement and shadowing experiences (ex. Career Interest Profiler/ Holland’s Survey) For Parents: ➢ ○ Encourages communication and collaboration between students and parents in the college/career search process ○ Scholarship search and application access
Program Benefits Continued For Staff: ➢ ○ As students transition from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school, teachers can target academic strategies based on student learning styles ○ Information can be used for Response to Intervention purposes ○ The Special Education Department can utilize the Career Interest Profiles as a part of their student’s transition plans ○ Career Interest Profiles can also be utilized by Family & Consumer Science for the career component of their curriculum ○ Roadtrip Nation - professionals share real life experiences
