Ø Naviance is a web-based resource for students that encourages and supports high school, career, and college planning Ø “Family Connection” is the website that is specific to our school Ø Family Connection is linked with Naviance Succeed, a service that is used by the counselors

  3. Why Naviance? Through self-discovery and collaboration with parents, teachers and school counselors, Naviance enables students to find college and career pathways that are right for them. Students start by: •Setting personalized goals •Assessing their strengths •Exploring career options based on interests •Searching for colleges •Applying for scholarships •And, tracking their admissions status •Finally, Naviance helps students plan a course of action to reach their goals, find resources to prepare academically, and discover their own path.

  6. Getting Signed In • Go to the HHS Family Connection website: http://connection.naviance.com/hempfield • • Student’s Log-in: • Username: 18LastF (Graduation Year, Last Name, First Initial) • Password: (same as all student accounts, i .e. Sapphire, Schoology, etc.)

  7. These tabs will direct you to useful information in each topic. New information will be highlighted here You can also view shared documents and Here you will messages from find links to your counselor important and relevant sites

  9. “Colleges” Tab Here you will manage the list of colleges that you are considering, and then applying to. You will also register here for college visits in the Fall at HHS. Here are many ways to research colleges and find potential matches. Search national and local scholarship opportunities.

  11. “Colleges I’m Applying To” Link Here you will manage the list of colleges that you are applying to. You will need to indicate the type of application(early decision, rolling, etc), whether you are applying via Common App, and admission decision.

  13. “About Me” Tab This is where you will find any surveys or sign ups for activities through the Counseling Dept.. This is where you find the Letter of Recommendation Survey (11 th grade requirement), Career Day Survey (10 th Grade requirement), and Senior Exit Survey (12 th Grade requirement).
