During this time of social distancing, C2 Pipeline is committed to providing our students and community with fun, engaging and interactive Virtual Afterschool Activities that YOU can do from the comfort and safety of your home. Each week, our staff will be hosting virtual activities on 12 different interactive channels - all you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer to join! Day Camps 2. a link for the 'Juniors' as well as, the 'Freshmen' and 'Sophomores', outlining more information on our upcoming '2020 Summer Day Camps' https://c2pipeline.wayne.edu/day-camps This link will reveal the six- 6 weeks of camps being made available, registration steps, etc.,and additional '2020 Summer Day Camps' All summer day camps will run Monday - Thursday from 9 AM - 3 PM and will be located on Wayne State University's campus. C2 Pipeline will provide transportation to and from our 24 high school sites. Each student will receive a lunch voucher for Tower's Ca c2pipeline.wayne.edu

  2. 2 MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY SUMMER PROGRAM 1) NEW Summer Mathematics Online (SuMO) - GATE Summer Mathematics ONLINE provides classroom instruction for qualified gifted students looking to complete accelerated math instruction in a shorter time beginning the week of June 1, 2020 and ending the week of August 1, 2020. In this period, students will work to complete Algebra 1, Algebra 2 or Geometry with LIVE online classes conducted by MSU GATE Mathematics instructor(s). Students are required to attend two, 2-hour math classes each week with additional tutoring labs available. Students will receive LIVE online instruction during the week with additional time for tutoring during the labs to work through their questions and concepts. 2) Summer Online - In effort to support gifted children in Michigan and beyond, MSU GATE has developed GATE SUMMER ONLINE 2020, an interactive LIVE Zoom video based class platform for gifted students in grades 3-11. The online courses will be LIVE with the same instructors that were originally scheduled to teach in the on campus summer program. The overall program structure has continued within each area of interest: GUPPY, MST, MSTL and IS4GT. However, in an effort to create quality online programming, some of the tracks and classes may have changed and the time structure has been somewhat shortened in an effort to limit the student’s screen time, but still allow for strong interaction during the course.   3. 3 CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY Central Michigan University Upward Bound Program is a college access program for High school students at Detroit Collegiate Prep at Northwestern. The program offers tutoring, advising, test prep, counseling, cultural, social enrichment and an intense (6) six-week summer program, which includes a residential living-learning experience. Upward Bound is federally funded (NO cost to participants) and administered through the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. Central Michigan University's Project Upward Bound Program is one of many on college campuses across the United States, all of whose purpose is helping young people develop their potential to succeed in college. Students remain in the program until graduation from high school . Criteria for Admission Includes: 1. Income Eligible and/or* 2. First Generation College Graduate ( neither parent graduated from a four- year college ) 3. Academic Need and Desire & Motivation to Succeed 4.   4. 4 BLUE DEVIL SCHOLARS PROGRAM APPLICATION Lawrence Technological University’s Blue Devil Scholars Program SAMPSON-WEBBER LTU BLUE DEVIL SCHOLARS Is an innovative partnership with the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) that provides students pathways to successful STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art/design, and mathematics) careers. To be eligible for the Blue Devil Scholars Program, students must complete the 8th grade at Sampson-Webber Leadership Academy and grades 9-12 at the Detroit Collegiate Preparatory High School at Northwestern. Selection is dependent on the following criteria: • Academic achievement (minimum GPA of 2.5) • Citizenship • Leadership • Extracurricular activities • Essay/Personal Statement

  6. 6 Virtual Summer Journalism Camp The Detroit Writing Room is hosting two-week journalism camps virtually in July. The camp is taught by a dozen journalists from The New York Times and Wall Street Journal, to Detroit Free Press and Detroit News. High school students will join us over Zoom to learn about news reporting, feature writing, blogging, photography and more. The Society for Professional Journalists Detroit chapter is offering a scholarship for Detroit high school students to attend free of charge. The deadline to apply is June 5 . Detroit high school students with financial need are eligible to apply for the scholarship at detroitwritingroom.com/journalism-camp
