We have moved back to 100% average grades not the Point grading system as we used at YES.

Sn Snack Time • We will have snack every day. • Please send healthy snacks: – Please DO NOT send chips, cookies or candy • Please send things that your child can eat independently. • Sometimes students are unable to bring snacks. They may get fruit from the counselor in the morning before coming to class.
Bi Birthdays • You may send in cupcakes or a cookie on your child’ s birthday. • Please check with me first to coordinate a time • Only send invitations if the entire class is invited • No gift bags please
Change of Transportation • Students must have a Change of Transportation form if their afternoon transportation changes. • These should be sent into the office in the mornings.

*We will be giving timed math fact tests. First Nine Weeks (2 nd grade review): Addition Test, Subtraction Test Second Nine Weeks: Multiplication 1 – 5 (Facts to 50) Third Nine Weeks: Multiplication 1 – 10 (Facts to 100) Fourth Nine Weeks: Division Facts Please practice these facts at home. Resource for practice tests: www.mathfactcafe.com Tests: 50% Classwork: 40% Fact Fluency: 10%
Wonders/McGraw Hill – Our reading timeline for each story is approximately two weeks. We typically test every other Friday. *Chapter Books Spelling – spelling test will be give day before reading test. Students edit sentences in Spelling Tests . Grammar/Writing – Parts of speech and writing Reading and Grammar/ Language Arts are now graded together as an ELA grade. Reading Assessments: 40% Classwork: 40% Grammar/Spelling/Writing: 20%
