Guidance Scholarship Guidance Sch cholarship The guidance scholarship is awarded to a student who has gone above and beyond this school year not only in the classroom but in the community as well. It is awarded to a student who has overcome many challenges to make college a possibility all while keeping a positive attitude. The two students we have chosen to receive this award have shown that they have the drive and motivation needed to be successful in all their future endeavors. The guidance scholarship goes to Bennet Waters and Mawa Lewis.

Kiwanis of Washington Crossing Kiw iwanis of Washington Crossing Late Bloomers Late Blo loomers The Kiwanis of Washington Crossing Late Bloomers award goes to a student who has shown great improvement in their time at Morrisville High School and great potential in their future. Congratulations to this year’s awardees.

Outstanding Tech Education Outstanding Tech Education This award is given to a student who has taken several Technology Education courses over their high school career and shown interest, talent, and skill.

Cindy Garritt Memorial Award Cin indy Garritt Memorial Award The Cindy Garritt Memorial Award was established in memory of Mrs. Cindy Garritt, a beloved Special Education teacher for 27 years here at Morrisville School District. Mrs. Garritt believed in hard work and trying your best. She believed in all of her students and knew they had a bright future. This award is given in her honor to a student who has overcome struggles to achieve.

David Pursell Memorial Award David Pursell Memorial Award Mr. Pursell gave up a career in the NFL to be a Social Studies Teacher at Morrisville High School. Mr. Pursell was a mountain of a man, and his personality was at least twice as large as he was physically. Mr. Pursell passed away a few years after he retired. He was a football coach during his teaching career, so this award is given in his honor to a senior athlete each year.

M.R. Reiter Scholarship M.R. Rei eiter Sch cholarship M.R. Reiter was a teacher, principal, and later a superintendent at Morrisville School District. Mr. Reiter had quite a legacy here, including an elementary school named after him that used to stand where Patriot’s Park is now. The Morrisville Education Association gives this award each year to a senior who does well in their studies, and, more importantly, is an active member of their school community.

Mary Skylar Educator’s Award Mary Skylar Educator’s Award Mary Skylar was a nurse at the Morrisville School District. She left employment at the school to serve as a nurse in WWII but never returned from war. The Morrisville Education Association is awarding this scholarship to two students who excel in the arts this year: one award for music and the other for fine arts.

Morrisville Business Association Morrisville Business Ass ssociation The Morrisville Business Association gives this scholarship each year to a student going to college for business. Just as the Morrisville Business Association supports businesses in Morrisville, we also support our future local business leaders.

Michelle Robin Memorial Award Michelle Robin Memorial Award This next award is given in memory of Michelle Robin. Michelle Robin was our feisty, caring, lovable French teacher who we sadly lost to cancer. While Michelle is most certainly irreplaceable, we honor her memory with a yearly award given to a senior who embodies some of her spirit and what she held dear. This year’s recipient of the Michelle Robin Memorial Award is Daviry Martinez.

Hardifer Award Hardifer Award The Michael “Mikey” Hardifer Award is given yearly to a senior basketball player who exhibits love of the game of basketball, is a good student, and a good teammate. The award honors Mikey Hardifer who passed away suddenly during the 1994 basketball season. Mikey was, and continues to be, in the hearts of his friends and classmates. This year’s award winner is Brielle Lindsey who will be attending Point Park College.

National Honor Society Book Award National Honor Society Book Award Students who maintain excellent academics and show outstanding character, leadership, and service are the pillars that uphold the values of the National Honor Society. This book award is given to an exceptional Honor Society student who has been a member for all three eligible years of high school.

Jim Tanzillo Scholarship Jim im Tanzillo Sch cholarship Jim Tanzillo graduated from Morrisville High School in the class of ‘59 and played football throughout his four years. He then played football at Western Carolina University where he met his wife, Trudy. He passed away in 2018, and Trudy would like to honor him with a scholarship to a graduating MHS football player that is enrolled in a four-year college or university. The criteria for this scholarship were as follows: The student must be a member of the football team, enrolled in an institute of higher learning, of good character, and well liked by peers and faculty, just like Jim. The Jim Tanzillo Scholarship is awarded to Edy Sarceño.

Today, Inc. Foundation Scholarship Today, Inc. c. Foundatio ion Sch cholarship This scholarship is provided by TODAY, Inc. FOUNDATION, a premier source of funding for alcohol and drug prevention, intervention, and education in Bucks County for nearly fifty years. Katie Baus, you have been selected by the staff of your high school as the recipient of the TODAY, Inc., FOUNDATION Scholarship in the amount of $1,500.00. One student at EVERY HIGH SCHOOL in Bucks County was eligible to receive this award, and your faculty thought you had the promise and vision to successfully pursue a career in social services, health care, drug & alcohol prevention/treatment, education, or other helping profession. Along with your academic performance and potential, your services to school, the community, family, and those in need were a consideration in your selection for this scholarship. Congratulations!
